I just bought my first boat ('97 grady 208) and I can't figure out where to fill the fresh water tank. My boat seems to have 2 inlets - one in the front of the port stern seat (small, threaded with a black cap) and one in the side of the same seat (large cap, looks like gas cap but says "water"). Should I be filling the side or the front. If one or the other is correct, what's the other for?

Thanks

The smaller one is probably for the water hose for your washdown and the larger is where you put the water in.

thanks, you're probably right.. called grady directly and they weren't any help. The smaller has a male hose end, which is weird.

I have a '97 208 with fresh water tank.

Gas cap look alike on side of stern port is for filling. Hose connection on front is for raw water washdown hose. My fresh water spigot (swing out faucet and on knob) :) is mounted in port gunwale under cap.
