never used the fridge before in my sailfish and i am trying to see how to turn it on or if it comes on automatically once the engines are running or if it is broken.....

i can only find some sort of control way in the back inside the fridge that does not seem to do anything when i fiddle with it;

any help would be appreciated!!

I assume it is the same setup as on my 2000 272. The knob in the back inside of the fridge is the on/off and temp setting. You should be able to turn the unit on or off using that knob if your house battery is turned on. As far as I know there is no other way to turn it on regardless of whether or not the engine is running.

If it does not turn on, check the fuse on the 12 volt side.

Don't you have a breaker on your AC/DC panel in the cabin?

Good point.....Not sure if it is on the breaker panel or separate fuse bank;

If it is, then it seems it is a 2 step process of flipping the breaker, then turning the knob to on inside the fridge-- will check;

Thx!

Sluggoe,
If your boat is set up properly, you have a dual voltage reefer, can be run off 12V DC or 120V AC. Probably wired on the AC side only. But you need to take a look at that panel down below. There won't be a separate fuse block for the reefer, unless GW had a brainfart that year... :roll:

I think all these reefers are heat absorption models and take several hours to cool down. Usually there are lights of some kind on the front indicating the unit is on and some indicate the power source. Other than the lights, there isn't much indication that it's working. Good luck.
