I own a 1992 Tournament 19 with a '91 Evinrude 150 which lives on Lake George in NY. I was told that my fuel intake tube is clogged but cannot be cleaned unless the tank is removed from the boat. The tube is fused or stuck in the bottom of the tank somehow ....has anyone experienced this or had similar problems? Other solutions?

Welcome to the site.

I've heard of this on an older 19 footer.

The metal pickup tube that extends to the bottom of the tank is perhaps welded to the top of the tank.

I'd try giving it a shot of some air pressure to clear it, perhaps a kid's bicycle pump to start. Open the fill line deck fitting beforehand. If you pull the fuel level sensor, you may be able to see the bottom of the tube and what comes out of it, then fish it out. May be a chunk of silicone of something. My 1988 204C pick up tube became restricted and that's what I found in it, but the tank had a threaded tube that unscrewed.

Be carefull working around fuel systems, if you don't feel confident, don't.

Symptoms? Hopefully removed check valve before testing?
