I haven't completely diagnosed an issue with my starboard engine (2002 Yamaha F225) yet, but it seems to not be getting fuel. My port engine runs great, but the starboard one turns strong just won't come on. I have read that these boats (1996 Sailfish 272) have fuel primers which I think I have located, but I'm not familiar with a fuel primer. I have two OEMS primer bulbs (5/16") that I would like to replace the fuel primers with. Using a primer bulb doesn't bother me at all. I believe I have located the primers, but correct me if I am wrong.

This is what I believe the fuel system is set up like: draft tube in tank(s) -> tank selector switches main/auxiliary -> fuel water separator canisters -> electric fuel primers -> engine

It looks like the fuel primers are right there in the aft bilge area with the battery selector switches and the fuel filters. Correct me if I am wrong, or if you think it's a bad idea to simply remove the primers and hook in the bulbs. Thanks

Do you see gas in the clear onboard filter? It should be about 2/3 full.
I believe there are two pumps on that motor, one inside the VST tank and one on the outside. I am not familiar with other primer pumps. There may be primer bulbs but they are not normally needed.
Normally to diagnose, you would start with a fuel pressure test at the fuel pump output or fuel rail and work you way backwards.

You should hear your low pressure pump turning on with the key. If not, that pump has failed or isn't getting power. Not uncommon. If your separators are full of fuel, not air you shouldn't need the primer. The electronic pump is sufficient.

Otherwise, you may be obstructed/clogged in the VST pump (very common). This is a good item to service routinely.

Good luck
