Gents,
The Sailfish I just bought has these. They work just fine, but the cynical person I am think they're going to fail when I need them most. But, since they're only used a few seconds it makes sense that they would last forever. What's everyone doing with these on a 12-year old boat? Who makes the best primer bulbs? OMC? Mercury? Thanks Guys!

Are you talking about the low pressure fuel pumps on Yamaha's? I have had at least one or two fail and since I fish far offshore, I go ahead and change them every 3-4 years. If you indeed have yamaha 2 stroke (mine are OX66 225's), I would change the VST filter and clean the o2 sensor.

Mine gave up the ghost a few years ago and went to bulbs. Any bulb from a reputable manufacturer will work fine as a replacement. You guys with injected motors still need to prime the system? I would think the VST tank would hold enough gas to let the motor's low pressure pumps get things going.

Ditto on the O2 sensor plus change all the filters (4-5? of them).
