Looking for feedback on what to look for and and indicators for when to replace a fuel tank. Older hull, '94 Chase, no visual signs of corrosion or leaks. Thanks

I just did it on my 1987. I noticed a gas smell only when I filled it all the way. It would dissipate pretty quickly. I suspected that the fill hose became permeable. When I removed it I couldn't believe how deteriorated it was. I should have done the job sooner.

You can inspect and squeeze the hose to see if it is deteriorating. Replace if it is.

My 2 cents.

I replaced fuel fill line on the 1989 Grady Offshore I recently sold, and was amazed how bad condition the original was. Came apart as it was removed. I would guess that any of our boats 15-20years old or more should probably have all fuel lines replaced, and fuel cell thoroughly checked. Just my opinion.

if the hose is not alcohol rated it can be deteriorating from the inside out...I did the ones in my 1990 back in 2011 and they were in bad shape...you may be due...
