Aluminum tank is rotted on top and I need to know the best way to remove center console. 1991 Spirit 175 with a 115 Yamaha.

It's a good idea to disclose your hull model and year for people to reply.

I am also curious about this as I recently purchased a 1991 spirit 175 that still has the original aluminum gas tank. I was able to get the tank drawings from Grady White and a generic tank removal guide but I do not have much information on removing the console. As far as I can tell the tank does not have a complete hole but is pretty pitted. I plan to tackle this in the fall.

Hi Tatrd, Are you able to share the tank removal guide? I'm in the same boat - literally. I just acquired at 1991 Spirit and need to replace the fuel tank. Surrounding the console on my boat is a small 1/8" line in the deck mold, that I suspect marks where the fiberglass would ideally be cut to access the tank. re-glassing with a couple inches perhaps on each side of the seam, looks like a rather simple matter given the amount of room on the deck.
