First post, thanks for any help in advance.

Last year I became the owner of a 1994 209 Escape. Some issues have popped up this year and I'm looking to get some info so I can address them. The boat is an hour away so I'd like to have an idea of what I may need and where to find things.

First off ... the stern pole light base ground wire is bad. Where does this ground wire go? I realize it runs down under the rear starboard seat where the batteries are. But where does it end up? Is there a negative busbar someplace?

Second ... could be sort of the same question, but are all the accessories run off the dash switches ground at the same place?

Third ... I have the fuse panel that uses the automotive type fuses. The owners manual picture is poor but it appears that below the fuses is 6 or so connectors. Is this where anything run to that fuse panel is ground? So the GPS that is run on the dash is powered by the fuse panel and ground just below it?

Again. Thanks for the all the help.

Hi,
I believe you will find two bus bars under the dash. One is the positive and the other negative to the batteries. You should be able to snake a wire from them to your light.
For the ground switches most do to the bus bar, but there could be wires all the way back to the batteries. You would have to look for the wiring diagram for the specific boat. A link below may be of help. If not, maybe call the factory or dealer.

Your positive feed for the light has to be fused so either find a spot on the bus bar behind a fuse or add an inline fuse close to the bus bar.

There should not be additional +12v wires back to the battery from the helm except for possibly a windlass circuit. All loads off of the battery should be after the battery switch with the exception of bilge pump feeds and perhaps a memory feed for an entertainment system that has preset channels.
