generator 33 grady 2003 GAS

The generator on my 2003 33 grady runs great the ? I have when its under load it runs at a constant RPM.With no load it pulses is this normal
or should I have someone check it out.Don't want to pay for a service call if not needed.

I sometimes get a surge when i first fire it up while its on a load but it tends to level off after a few minutes. Key to these Gensets is you MUST RUN THEM!! Your not doing it a favor by letting it rest. I run it every week for about 1 1/2 hrs with a load.
