Looking for someone who replaced their Fisher Panda 4200 generator?

What did you go with?
Cost?
Ease of replacement?

I have a 2006 330 Express. Not sure if I need to replace it yet, but thought I’d check to see what my options are.

Thanks!

I'm real happy with my FP 4200. With proper maintenance it should last 1000 hours easily. German engineering, single cylinder, needs a good battery and good connections.

Yeah - I have 900 hours on ours and it has been flawless other than replacing a starter. Ran it all day yesterday while offshore fishing - 12 hours. It shut off on the way in at some point and I didn’t hear it so sea cock was open while running boat. They say not to do that which we have followed to the tee except that I didn’t hear it shut down. Could start it back up but was late and not sure if out of fuel or something else going on. Will check it this week and see. I’m thinking one of my batteries is going bad as my Furuno unit would shut down each time I started boat. May be both - battery and fuel or fuel filter.

Anyhow, was worried I screwed it up by running w/seacock open.

Do we know who Grady uses now?

The most common issue is the starter. I've changed (2) at the 7 year mark each time. Other than that that it has worked fine.
If you need contact info or parts the FP guys are pretty responsive. There are 3 screws that hold the starter down - one of them is shorter than the others and if you put a long screw in that hole, you will have a big issue. So keep track of where the screws go....

Still using FP, but now they are up to 5KW, still diesel.
