Discovered that my 1997 bracket with twin 150s has a crack in the rear center. Its between the motors right at the bottom where the bracket wall returns toward toward the transom. Apparently when GIL made the engine mount, They didn't think it was necessary to weld it all the way across on the in side. There is a piece of angle aluminum there but not welded completely. Now there is a crack about 4-5 inches right along the bottom of the rear plate. The crack only runs the distance between the welds. I think if it is welded and the paint repaired, it will be fine. I think some if the water that got in came from the inspection plate on top not being sealed good. Ant thoughts??
