On my Northstar Loran I could enter a route from my current location or select "Restart Here" to continue my route if off course.
My Garmin doesn't have that feature.
If I select a route and I'm not at the starting point I'll be off course.
I can enter the route then hit "go to point" for the first waypoint and then the route is resumed.
I've spoken with a few electronics salesmen and they cofirm GPS units in general are the same.
Is anyone aware of a GPS that offers that function?
