Looking at SIMRAD NSS Evo3 for my 228. I want it to go in the glovebox/electronics box built into the helm. Do you think a NSS9 unit will fit in there? Dimensions: 10 15/16"W x 6 7/16"H x 4 3/16"D. Boat is stored for winter or I would measure.

Appreciate it!

I've got 2 Lowrance Carbon 7's mounted side by side. Might look those measurements up and calculate the NSS9 size fitting in the Carbon footprint. Mine is put away also or I'd measure. Twin 9's wouldn't fit, I wanted two identical units so the 7's were it.

Looking back at your question. A single 9 should fit with no problem. I'd go as big as possible if you're only doing the single unit. When you split screen a single, it gets small for us seeing impaired folks that wear glasses, especially out on the water and throw in boat movements. With my twin 7's it's like a split 14" single. Works for me.

I've sized several models of fishfinders for the electronics box on my 226. 10" is the biggest that fits well and allows you to see the whole screen. The 9" Simrad will fit fine. I'm considering one to eventually replace the 9" Humminbird that I have in there now.

I had to mount my radio sideways in order to get everything to fit. But if you have a hardtop, the radio placement will not be a problem.

A 9 should fit. Might be tight vertically but this is a 7 on my 228....
