I’m rigged with a ox66 250
The battery compartment seems extremely small for 2 group size 27 batteries.
I just bought new ones but am not crazy about how they are positioned both on the starboard side of the rear storage compartment. I have the enclosed transom model with a bracket. There’s not enough room to put battery boxes in there at all and on the other compartment I have my oil container and fuel filter in the way of mounting the other battery there. This results in the boat leaning at rest. Has anyone else had this problem?? What would correct this ?
I’m also not crazy about having my battery’s just sitting in the compartment without any coverage over the terminals. It’s a sumwhat encloses area but the cup holders mounted in the stern seats do have small holes in them which drain water near the batteries. Is this normal? Or am I missing something here ? I also can’t stand the boat always leaning to the right. Water never drains on the left side!

I have two, group 31 batteries... one under each of the aft seats. I also have the oil container and fuel filter all mounted back there and there is plenty of room to access. Are you sure you've looked in the area well enough - maybe move things around a bit?

You’ve got two mounted inside battery boxes in the stern compartments, and the oil box and fuel filter in there?

I'd consider weight movement and the overall hassle in moving them. If really concerned you can investigate battery boxes or at a minimum terminal covers. To be honest, water isn't going to bother them. It seems the access is your biggest problem. Need to trade that off against re-wiring and figuring out what movement does to the ride due to weight distribution. Personally I'd live with it.

Yes. One battery and the battery switch on the stbd side. The fuel filter is pretty much dead center. There's another battery on the port side and the oil box is on the port side, as well. The port battery is probably (guessing here) 6" from the port hull side - pretty much directly under the seat opening (as is the stbd battery underneath the stbd seat opening). The oil tank is further towards the centerline, right above the stringer (but not past the stringer... still on the port side). I can get to everything comfortably and it's easy to remove/install the batteries, as well.
