Looks awesome. I have the same thing on my project list. Looks like acrylic? I was thing starboard, but I think I like the look of that better.

actually the guys at the marina matched up the colors and used fiberglass to do the flushmount

they decided to use fiberglass because they felt the weight of the unit warranted using a stronger material...since the work *free electronics and flush mount provided by previous owner* was negotiated into the price of the boat when we bought it I was very pleased with the outcome

the wheel I bought off of craigslist and the powerknob I purchased off amazon....total cost of new edson wheel and powerknob was approx. $200. Overall I'm thrilled with the look and the value!
