I am looking at a 33 grady white with twin 225 Yamaha's. the year is 2004. I have heard many comments about how the boat is a dog and do not do it. Unfortunately most of these people have never ran one. I would like to hear from the knowledgeable who actually have this configuration. I normally fish with 3-4 guys and loaded with fuel ect...
Should I stay away from a 33 with 225's. Also is there a real difference with 250's?

thanks

Don't know. I can tell you that my 33 runs just fine with the 250's. Please don't listen to me or anyone else. Grab four/five of your buddies and go take a sea trial. Only you can decide for yourself - after all - you have to live with it.

People who have them say there's no problem, but you're the one dropping the money so get a sea trial.

I'm very happy with my 250's, i know people with 225's and they do not complain, but as it was said above, you dropping the dough, so get a loooooooooong sea trial with a few buddies of yours and if possible full fuel, makes a big difference on the ride with only one tank full.

I just replaced the 225s with 250s and while the 250s have a little more pep out of the hole there is not much difference in cruising speed.

Usually the ocean dictates how fast you go, not the engines.

I beleive is 2 or 3 mile difference on cruise, same on top end.

I had the boat - It was a 2003 w/225's. My buddy has a 2006 w/250's that I run all the time. The 250's are slightly quicker out of the hole and run 1 MPH quicker at cruise.......They burn more fuel doing it too....The 330 is no speed demon with the 250's either.....Want a rocket sled....Get a new one with twin 350's...not THAT is a quick 330!.......I know everyone says it's a slug with 225's....But, that is conjecture...i had one for 3 years set-up that way and run the 330 w/250's now 9Friends) and I can tell you definitively there is almost no difference at all......Above posts are right though....Go sea trial it and see what YOU think...
