After a year of owning the boat - had a difficult time inserting the flush hose in the Grady White provided port. Looked on this site and a number of suggestions, here is what I tried and it worked.
Squirted some Dawn dishwashing soap into the hose, attached flush fitting and then coated outside of adapter with dawn as well. After flushing everything works great, nice easy attaching with a good click.
