I just (almost) finished fixing a similar issue with my engine bracket bolt in my transom. The lower starboard bolt had crushed part of the transom. I also had to hairline cracks in the corner not near the bolt. They were really small cracks and I didn’t see them until I degreased and cleaned the inside transom.
After grinding out the cracks in the crushed damage around the bolt. I didn’t find any wetness or rot actually even after getting into the transom plywood. There was some gaps around the bolts that I filled with thickened Epoxy.
I placed 3 to 4 layers of 1708 fiberglass with epoxy in key spots to strengthen the cracked area and strengthen crushed area.
Hope it lasts a long time! It should 1708 is Burley stuff and so is Apoxsehope it lasts a long time! It should 1708 is Burley stuff.
needs sanding and paint.... Then it will almost be invisible. Considering adding metal strap to bottom bolts for piece of mind.
