Gulfstream Top Bunk

I've checked with Grady and they said the top bunk weight limit on the 232 Gulfstream is 150lbs. Has anyone tried putting a heavier person up there successfully and/or tried any modification to support more weight.

The guy I bought mine from swore he always slept in the upper so his boys could share the lower. He probably weighed around 180. I haven’t been up there, but I am going to replace the webbing straps this spring, and maybe add one more.

I weigh in around 185lbs and have laid in mine just fine. It is very sturdy with the two straps. I have no doubt that it would support 200lbs.
