I'll be picking up a new to me 228 in the next little bit. The storage net zipper under the hardtop is blown out. How hard is that to take down and get repaired? It looks to be sewn/wrapped around the hardtop frame. Just curious if anyone has taken theirs down and put back up and if it's possible to re-stretch it tight?

Thanks

Not to worried about the zipper repair. More concerned about getting it laced back onto the hardtop frame and it not be sagging.

Is it just looped on with cord around the frame? If so, easy to take down and put back on, just a slow process and you need to make sure you make it nice and snug.

Hi,
I take that net down every spring to wash the inside of the hardtop and clean with Zep Mildew cleaner. If you store pfds up there you will get minor mold that needs to be cleaned up.
I do my pfds as well. It simply laces off. Take some pictures prior to removing. Very easy to lace back into place.
Take it to a local canvas or upholstery shop and they can sew in a new zipper. I'm sure it will be low cost. Just get the same oversized plastic and you will be set.

Best of luck.
