We were out wreck fishing three weeks ago, just before the Tog season was terminated, and for the most part found nothing but spiny dogfish. In fact we caught about 25 of the doggies and virtually nothing else at the Garden State South Reef. We fished about three wrecks in the reef and two wrecks within a mile of the reef, with nothing to show for it but a throw back 13.5" tog and several small throw back seabass. We moved to a wreck further south and caught seven keeper seabass. My son caught a huge 3lb., 10 oz. seabass 21 inches long. It was a beauty.
Haven't been out since due to the weather, but I'm going out this coming week again, if the weather cooperates.
