Not new to boating or Grady's, but new to heads. I have a 257 fisherman and from what I can tell a head plumbed to a tank with a pump out. There is a macerator. I'm struggling with two things. If there's a tank, should I see any of the waste after you pull the handle and release it. Seems the waste is right there. No. 1 I'm talking hut can see the level. My marina launched the boat and they prep all systems so can't imagine waste is this high as I never use it. Just my wife only a couple times. This makes me think something not right or I'm doing something wrong. I wouldn't think you have to pump out after every few uses. Also given it's all no. 1 does anyone recommend just using the macerator when I'm off shore. I think the macerator fuse was blown so haven't had that on. Going to replace fuse and see if I can get that going. My other question is how do I know I Have the seacock in right position for pump out. Should it be vertical or horizontal? Here's what it looks like .
