Hello, I am in the process of buying a 2008 G-W 257 Advance with twin 150s and this is my first post on the board. Of course, I already have a question that I can't get a definitive answer for. The boat is going to be moored in saltwater for four to five months out of the year, and then in storage for the remainder of the year, shrink-wrapped and otherwise protected. (I know that is a shame, but it really really gets cold up here in Maine).

The 257 has a T-Top, and the front and side curtains. My immediate concern is that since it will be on a mooring it will be subject to rain, and blowing saltwater, given the storms we have here in Maine during the summer. What I can't figure out is whether I need to find a helm cover to protect the electronics, or whether they are sufficiently waterproof, so that I can just leave them out in the open (the MFD will be behind a plastic door, but the Yamaha gauges will not be). I can't find anything about this topic using the search function, so I would appreciate any advice the more experienced folks might care to give me regarding this subject.

Thanks
