How do you keep wasps from making a nest up in the access points of your boat? Lol

Was reconnecting the windshield wiper line, a pain in the butt btw...and heard buzzing and a wasp flewout from way back up inside there, somewhere. Not sure if it was a lone wasp but I am leery to simply set a bug bomb off and let it seep it’s way up into there as that can be corrosive.

So, any ideas?;)
 
Try a really scary scarecrow... Or place wasp traps around your boat.

I am.. lol.. but it has been sitting a year :P Trying to.

I think I will google a non corrosive fogger. I plan to wash the boat down hard this Friday anyway, and the electrical system is going to get a remake next year so....Cannot have a wasp fly around. I despise wasps.. lol loathe.. hate.. worse than an ex wife.. lol

So, getting the axle today after work, that goes on Friday or Saturday.

Weather forecast for Sunday looking awesome. Monday even better, however cannot take off Tuesday, so.. eh...

Tis the season. Wasps have emerged from hibernation in my boat yard.The wasps right now are looking for a nice place to live. I watch where they hover and if it is in or on the boat, I take a look for a nest. If there is, I spot treat it with wasp/hornet spray can. Don't fog the boat unless it is totally infested.

ok, good call. I just saw one way up in under the captain's side gunnel, up towards the dash... so, may have been a lone wasp stuck. Not sure.. do not want to find out about the time I go to dock.. lol Going to have to figure out the best way to look up into there because my old ass cannot move out of the way fast enough down there on the floor if I find them.. lol

Russ, you might look into "Hot Shot - No Pest Strips". I use them when I store my boats for winter to keep the bugs out. They work for up to 4 months but check out the instructions to be sure they will work for your application.
 
Nice.. will do that today when I go out to get the axle. Thanks guys My boats never had this problem before.. but this beast has a lot of nooks and crannys lol

I had a couple of mud dauber problems. They seem to nest anywhere. One nested in my holding tank vent making it impossible to pump it out until I cleared. Took a while to figure that one out. One caused a cabin leak by nesting in the instrument cluster drain hose. One ruined a rifle barrel by nesting in there. They are pests.
 
I found a mud dauber nest under my cabin headliner when I changed out my warning horn. It was not active, but had a lot of dead inside it. Glad it worked out that way as I have a real problem with wasp, hornets and bees. Don't even get me started about those Asian hornets

I use those too. Works well against all manner of critters.
 
Just have to watch. If you see wasps hanging around the same spot, you can be pretty sure they have a nest or are planning one. A quick shot of wasp spray is helpful As to looking under the gunnels, get one of those mirrows on a telescoping stick. You will be able to inspect without having to get on your knees. Although that can be painful, it isn't as painful as getting stung while you are jammed under the gunnels on your knees:)

I learned to check for this after beating the hell out of my hitch pin trying to get it latched up. I finally jacked it back up and looked up in there and a large, now crushed nest was stopping the coupler from settling all the way down on the ball...
