I'll normally cruise at 4500 rpm and go about 27 mph yesterday for 15 mins I was cruising at 5000 rpms and would only be going 18 mph but then would return to 4500 rpm at 27. It happened when first going out and then again on my way in. Any ideas on what would be causing this?

Is your prop ventilating at 5000 rpm? You should be able to hear this if it is occurring. The only way that you could lose speed when you increase rpm is if the prop slips either because it is entraining air or the hub slips. It is highly unlikely that a hub would begin to slip over 4500 rpm and then re-engage again at 4500 rpm.

Try adjusting the motor trim at 5000 rpm and see if the problem goes away.
