I also have a 2005 Tourney 225, with the OEM 225 Yamaha 4-stroke V6. FWIW, I've always noticed that the lower edge of the main motor cowling seems to touch the water while first getting onto plane. Might be due to the fact that it's a bracket mounted outboard, and the leverage of the hull + bracket just puts the motor deeper into the water upon planeing.
