Hydraulic Steering Question

I need to add fluid to my Sea Star hydraulic steering on the boat, and I'm wondering if it is just a simple matter of adding hydraulic fluid to the reservoir, or do I need to bleed or purge the system every time fluid is added? Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated.

you just add it to the helm

if you still get slow response then you will need to bleed it
