Hello everyone, new member here. I am repowering 1999 sailfish 272 with evinrude twin 225, old OX66 has serious engine problem.
Do I need to get new hydraulic steering? The mechanic said the old one is still in good shape I don't need even though it is 13 yrs old
, but I don't want to have a trouble in the future because of hydraulic steering failure.
Any suggestion folks?

Thank you..

Hi, when we repowered with a new engine we replaced all hydrallic steering lines and controls, fuel lines, guages and elctrical lines. Cost was about $20,000 but worth it compred to buying a new boat.
