Well, not putting this in the update as it does not pertain, sorta...heh, but had a delay. Had the day off, but had a few things to get done at the house before I could work on the boat and, well...one thing bled into another and before I knew it...literally, my son’s Bus pulled up to the house and I was like, “What the hell??”

But, was worth the delay...

I had been meaning to try something. I cook, it’s what I do...I eat..lol...but I love cooking even more than eating. Well, I had some ingredients I bought and I knew that if I did not cook them yesterday, I would not have time this week and would then put them in the freezer, and not get to them for a long time so.....had to cook.

I never really follow a recipe and I heard about “Armadillo eggs” and “Scottish eggs” so wanted to use up some jalapenos that Walmart curbside had forced on me when they messed up an order...

I boiled about 18 eggs and made deviled eggs, then put the halves back together. Then added a chunk of cheddar cheese and jalapeno half. Then I encased that in pork sausage, and wrapped it in bacon.

then I smoked them at about 140 for 2 hours, and cranked it to 225 for another hour.

also did smoked sausage links with jalapeno and cheddar and bacon.

I think it was a good reason to wait on the boat..heh, plus I cleaned the kitchen and did a LOT f laundry :p

Oh, and I took my daughter out fishing Saturday. The bite was off due to a cold snap that came through this week, but she told me, at like 5am, “Dad, you do not have to ask if I want to go fishing, okay? Like...ever...I do want to go. Just let me know.”

I had to promise to take her again soon, to get her to leave the water lol

They look really good! Love what Texas style can do for a simple deviled egg!

Lol, sorry.. was busy as heck yesterday. LS, when you come down, I will see about cooking something for you ;)

These went over pretty well yesterday. I had to share them as I made 17 of them, and they were a lot larger than I planned heh.. so, 3 left :p all mine! lol

I love cooking for folks, probably more than eating it.. but.. maybe not ;)

My deck is an extension of my kitchen, and so is my boat .. now that I have a small kitchen and a grill ;)

I would like to sample each thing you smoked, grilled or cooked. Can you provide the forum with your grilling mastery?

Uh, mastery? I just cook heh.. besides, this is a boat forum and I would hate to offend folks by going too far on a tangent about cooking :p I appreciate the kind words, heh, but did not mean to hijack boat discussions. Anyone wishing to sample any food, just needs to coordinate and show up. Will trade Grady work and stories for food any day lol

Lol.. if I thought I could get a big group of GreatGrady folks down here, I have 2 acres...a workshop with an A/C, and plenty of room .. I'd definitely cook up a storm;). That is what I am missing here at home, some other Grady owners to commiserate with heh.

Wouldn't it be a hoot to have an annual or semi-annual Grady thing where we pick someone and go to their place and work on their boat (or a couple of them) for a weekend, and eat a lot of food, tell a lot of lies.. and slowly build up a fleet of friends? heh Sorta take the "neighborhood" thing global :p

Sorry, Navy guy in me. I rarely sleep past 5am... but this week, I have been working a lot of hours due to a SQL server issue I am working on... heh

I generally get 6 hours of sleep a night, give or take waking up 3-4 times :p

I generally wake up around 3-4am, like today... woke up at 3.. went back to bed.. gave up about 4.. lol

But, is what it is... let's me relax getting ready for work.

I wish more Grady people lived around me, would be a lot more fun :p
