Well, finally after about 3 months I am now happy to say that my GW 258 is sitting in my driveway in Central Queensland, Australia...

The photo below was taken outside the port as we were just preparing for trip home. Other photo is taken prior to being shipped off to port in US.

Picked her up from the port yesterday after clearing customs and completed the 1100 kilometre drive home. My Landcruiser towed the EZ Loader trailer beautifully and sat on 100km/hr (60m/hr) all the way home - although you could actually see the fuel gauge dropping as I headed north!!!

Kicked the boat over this afternoon and absolutely stoked that everything works well. Nothing better than getting what you expected and more...

Must say thanks to a number of the people on this site as they have provided me with heaps of assistance in getting the boat here.

Not many GW's in Australia, but I believe numbers will increase as the interest in the boat shown at the fuel stations (stopped at plenty) and on the road was remarkable.

Will post some fishing photos after I get her 'wet'

Good luck with the new rig. The only thing missing is some fish blood on the deck.

She's a real beauty. Glad the long trip for her was uneventful. I know you'll enjoy. Please post some photos when you're out and about. Always like to see the sights from down under.

Beautiful boat! Good luck with her! Nice way to go with the power twin 150s let us know how she does!

Congrats on the new rig, she looks beautiful.

I just got back from a month in Australia and New Zealand and was surprised to see a number of GW's in different marinas.

Great country, friendly people and good food. What more could you want.

Fabulous looking boat. We know you will get many happy hours on her.

How did she ride on that trailer going down the wrong side of the road?

Nice rig. In the second picture it looks indoors Are You building a garage for that baby?If so sweet.

Seadog, I'm really happy that all is good after the risk you took buying her. She's a beautiful baby. Hopefully, she'll give you many hours of pleasure over the years. Do you have a name picked out?

Congrats on a nice ride, and an uneventful transport. Hope to see some bloody deck photos soon.

Congrats Seadog. I know about all the pain associated with bringing a Grady into Oz. I did so with a 228.

Trust me, its all worth it! We generally get 1 or 2 people an outing commenting on the beauty of our boat!

Best of luck with her. Jekyl on this forum has one up in Townsville I think. Mine's in sydney.

Enjoy

Thanks for the responses. Cannot wait to get the boat going. My two little girls will not get out and demanding I get off work and take them fishing!!

Looking at calling the boat - GULP FICTION

dobson_c, Jekyl has been great in assisting me and answering some hard questions.

If anyone is over this way, may sure you look me up as we may be able to provide some Australian hospitality!!

Where in Queensland? Lived in Queensland myself for 2 years. Spent a lot of time in Mackay(14 months), Toowoomba (6 months), and Wynnum Manley (4 Months). Miss the Peppermint Bippy's and Cane Toads! Congrats on the Grady, would love to do it again down there and do the Whitsundays in my current Grady. Is there any place more beautiful than Cape Hillsborough and the Eungella Rainforest?
