installing a through hull

I'm installing a new fish finder and I have to drill a 7/8 hole in the hull to install the transducer,But where is the best place to install it on a 1994 sailfish 272?

what else you have under there? you want to stay away from other thru hulls/pick ups etc and as close to flat/cl as possible.

If you have the Airmar tilted element X-ducer just mount it anywhere that you have fairly easy access and where nothing is fwd. of it . This will help to insure "clean water " it's reading. Does the 272 Have x-ducer mounting flats in the hull? Grady can tell you if you don't have the owners manual.
