Do any of you have an "agreed value" insurance policy on your older Grady (mine is an '87 Gulfstream)? If so, who is your insurer and did they require any sort of exceptional conditions.... like a survey or the like?

My insurance is due, shortly, and I'd like to make sure I have look at all of the possibilities.

I have an 88 Trophy Pro I went to my agent (state farm) and talked to him, when i bought the boat it was in kind of rough shape so we agreed till it was up and running that i would insure it to the value of my loan, when the boat is ready it will have a better value and he said i can increase it to what I think its worth and he would have no problem with it. However my family has used this agent for close to 30 years so that may have a part in it as well. No survey.

We checked both Boat US and a small local insurance co. Both quotes have an "agreed value". Boat US did not ask for a survey, but requested
several photos.
