I'm moving the boat to Alaska this spring and was considering my weather data and communication options. I think I've settled on SAT phone for emergencies and clearing customs via NEXUS if they let me... but the weather data through PredictWind and real time buoy reports sounds intriguing via satellite. Anyone have experience with IridiumGo unit? Reviews sound mixed, but as with many things ones expectations can taint your evaluation of a product. At this stage I'm not really planning on using it for voice if at all possible, just data for weather, buoys, maybe some texting.
