I'm looking at an 85 overnighter here in cape may nj with a 2008 2 stroke. The motor only has 120 hours and the boat has passed all of the "structural tests"..Tomorrow we are going for a test drive. Three 175-200 lb adults will be aboard. Do any of you guys have a 150 on your boat? thanks

btw...I'm a new member and this is my first post.

Yes, it's adequate. I have an 87' with the original 150 yamaha. It goes well with up to three pepole and full fuel.
I would repower with that motor.

That said, ideal power is probably a 200.

Good luck.

I am considering selling my grady 89 overnighter with 2007 yam 150 only 123 hr. All 100 percent could save you some bucks. The 150 in adequate for that boat. Let me know I like in Delaware.

I had a '96 208 with a Yamaha 150 on it for 18 years and thought it was fine. My 2015 came with a Yamaha 200 4 Stroke and while the 200 has a better top speed and is more fuel efficient, I actually think that the 6 Cylinder 150 had a little better punch out of the hole.

I used to fish with 2 or 3 good size guys on the boat and never really felt the 150 wasn't enough. Fishing alone is was plenty.
