jimmy's marine service and arc tec marine

Good Move Mr. Moderator

A difficult move, but long overdue.
Now back to open minded exchanges.
Thx

Congrats on a fine decision. Most boards I follow have similar rules and would have banned him on the second offense.

While Jimmy had lots of good knowledge, he was mostly ineffective since the info usually got lost in his many confrontations.

Rules are rules and we all must abide by them when on someone's site. Providing they are applied evenly, I have nothing but praise and conformance....

I can't say I disagree with your decision, that's for sure. Jimmy is an incredible wealth of knowledge, but he doesn't "play well with others."

Too bad, jimmy walked me through my transom project. Probably forgot more than I'll ever know. He shoots from the hip and tells it like it is. I think for the most part people like to push his buttons.

jimmy sent me one like that once, i dont feel the need to call someone when i can just ignore them

but if you pm'ed him he usually gave good help

I do say I have gathered much helpful tips from Jimmy's post's and

PM's, though I have never been the target of any personal attacks.

I am a fairly new member of the site, and I have come to Jimmy's

defense at times which makes me wonder if my post shall be shunned in

the future by those who have had arguments with him. But none the less

my world is comprised of people who dont get along and it is my job to

filter through confrontation and get to the meat of the matter. In my

chosen profession I have learned to deal wih many different types of

personalites and find the best in them. Thats just me and I try to find the

value in all that I deal with. I dont blame those who feel that thay have

had bad experiences or personal attacks, I am just more tolerant than

most to different types of personalites. I will miss Jimmy's helpful tips.

Too bad, Jimmy was a good resource. Perhaps he will find a way to convey his knowledge more constructively and avoid personal confrontations so he can return. He obviously spent a lot of time contributing to the forum and liked to help people (not many in a business so freely dispense advice and help for free). I disagree with the thoughts that this should be solely an owner forum. Different perspectives are useful even if you don't agree with them.

The issue here is not that Jimmy didn't care for GW boats or the fact that many disagreed with his opinions on a variety of subjects. He simply does not play well with others and would have been banned long ago on just about any message board.

This is about civility and respect for others. Politicians certainly do not agree on many subjects but they present the views without insulting and personally attacking others, at least for the most part. A politician would not get very far by issuing threats to their opponents.

Great job to administration and their dealings with this. I back your decision 100%, you guys warned them and did not want to ban them but their actions forced them off this site. I agree with many they were knowledgeable in much that they shared, but that knowledge does not outweigh their actions. I enjoy the friendly manor of this site, this is what forums are for, sharing info and helping others who share a common interest, not fighting, disagreements occur and we all have opinions, it does not need to ever become more then that.
