Does anyone have this set up? Journey 258 with single F250 4stroke. Im looking at one and just wondering about cruise speed and RPM's and if its enough motor?

Seems like it would be fine from what I've seen online. I don't need a speed machine just want to cruise at 27 MPH or so under 4500 RPM. Hoping for close to 40 MPH top end. Boat has Hardtop and Bottom paint. Twins are not an option right now as I want to say with a single motor configuration. Thanks!

I had an 06 258 with a 250 yamaha hanging off the back. Plenty for what you're talking about. I don't remember RPMs but mine topped out at 41/42 MPH, 2 people, normal load, flat seas. Cruise all day at 27, depending on conditions of course. Great boat.

I did have a sea trial on a Voyager 247, the predecessor of the Journey 258, that had a OX66 250 on it. From what I remember, cruise speed was around 26 mph, but I don't think that it topped out any higher than 35 mph.

Thanks for the feedback thats helpful. Numbers from test were 4500 rpm and 24 MPH and 35 MPH top end at 5600 rpm. Pretty windy rainy day, 125 gallons full fuel, curtains up and tested by the mechanic...not me. Still doing other tests, so maybe that will improve...if not then maybe new prop? Even though not horrible but definitely could be improved upon.

Is this the 258 that was located in SC? Murrell's Inlet/Georgetown area? Saw one advertised on THT.
