I looking at a kicker bracket for my seafarer 228 that mounts to my swim platform. Armstrong makes this at a reasonable price any one has any experience with this bracket?
Thanks

That looks fine. I got mine through my dealer, I believe a guy in Oregon makes them. You could call my dealer at (408) 371-6681 and ask them who the guy is.

BTW, I mounted my kicker on the starboard side because the batteries and ~40 pounds of downrigger balls live on the port side. It works great for me. They do it the other way so if you are a heavy guy and you are solo, it balances. I'm 200 pounds and the boat lists slightly solo but rides perfectly when my kid is riding with me. If I did it again, I do it the same way.

What year is your 228? I opted not to do the platform mount since my 228 is an 05 with the fiberglass platform, and went with the Adventure Marine mount. The newer 228s have an aluminum platform that I wouldn’t hesitate to mount a bracket on. I moved a battery for weight distribution, cut the platform and moved the platform support. 81584AAE-5BEF-43A4-8AEB-72833B65AB32.jpeg855CE2BB-1B59-4BB4-B160-830B3BA0A347.jpeg

Lucky thanks for the tips and I’ll give John a call and ask about that bracket.

tuidawgs I have the same fiberglass platform you have that’s a neat idea to cut the platform. That looks solid. Thanks
