Looking for info on putting a kicker on my 204 overnighter , wanting to use control box instead of tiller handle but there's not much room, anyone have suggestions?

What's your current setup? A top-mounted box (binnacle mount)? Do you have room to use a side-mount box for the kicker? How 'bout room for a binnacle on the port side of the helm/gauges?

I think the name of the game here is to think creatively.

Not sure how your set up is, but here is a picture of my kicker control box. IMG_4956.jpg

The boat just has a kicker bracket on it , the control is going to have to go on the starboard side for which it was designed, I assume the previous owner had a tiller handle on their kicker which was not included I'm the sale

No, you can purchase a binnacle mount that goes on top (either left or right of the helm gauges)... or you can purchase a side mount. They will both work with the engine.

I'm assuming you didn't already buy a control box without planning ahead... but looking back at your post, you didn't mention it one way or the other? It's not clear what you mean by "for which it was designed".

Here is my setup, newer model though.

The kicker I bought has a side mount , my concern is how to run the cables , there's not much room anywhere, the only trough is taken up by my big motor

I have a 97 208 and moved the swim platform over to starboard, mounted kicker on port. Kicker controls mounted on the port side. I did not have good spots on starboard. Good luck.
