Leaking fuel tanks 306 Bimini

Do you have the measures of the GW fuel tanks as i fear worst case scenario happens and i will need to pull them and in this case probably replace.
There is no "real" leak but it seems to me that rubber seal between fuel sender plate and tank is leaking a tiny bit, or one of the elbows, i will replace the seal to see if that fixes the problem and verify how inside looks and where all the rust is coming from, but that is in another tread i write now.
Mine are Florida Marine Tanks
FMT - 150A - GW
FMT - 140A - GW

This looks like them. I ordered mine (GW 265) from welding world and they were the exact tanks.

Not sure about the dimensions as gallons a a tad more, however the filler hose, vent, elbows and sender holes seem to be in the right position.

How did you liked them?
For how long did you have them?
Are they painted, coal-tar or etch primer?
Any complaints?

I probably can ship with the freight forwarder in Miami i used for years to ship me stuff to Costa Rica (including two Suzuki DF300AP in crates) to Italy and if i have time in a container transport would not be that expensive. Thats why i start to get informations now with the fuel tanks still in place.

Can consider if Poly tanks might be a solution for you. They won’t have the same capacity because it won’t be a custom fit.
Perhaps the new tanks weren’t properly secured, and possibly moved while underway, causing stress on the welds?

Not sure you will get poly tanks in that capacity. I think the capacity is in the 150 gal range for each.

I love the tanks. I have only had them in for a few weeks as of now so time will tell but my guess is years of great use so no complaints so far. I can it seems like the fuel senders are a little off but in the conservative way. I calibrated them at empty. Filled 10 gallons and they still read empty. But im ok with that! Filled em up and read correct gallons and %.

Yep, i am not sure if gasoline poly tanks exist with more than 120 gallons and it would be probably difficult to find one with acceptable capacity to fit the boats belly.
My ex boss told me that he found a company who has really a lot of poly tanks and may build them on request if they believe that it's worth to make the mould for a certain brand and boat. As soon i know the correct dimensions i will start to search if i find reasonable big poly tanks, otherwise local build SS or import from US bilder Sea Shift was so nice to post.

Yes thats often the case to create a kind of fuel reserve, by BW 23 Outrage had the sender in front of the tank, so he showed empty when the 150 gallon tank was 1/4 or more full.

Another question, id the tank came with rubber/pvc as rubbing protection already attached?
If not did you attached them on the tank or on the stringers inside the fuel compartment?
I probably need them without fuel sender as i prefer to have the European Ohm reading stuff in my boat,
have you seen your fuel sender, is it a vertical one with float sliding up and down on a tube or the old style ones with a arm and a float on it?

The sender if the tube type doesn't and shouldn't go all the way to the bottom of the tank. Therefore a certain amount of fuel could be in the tank without the sender 'moving'. As mentioned, the angle of the tank can greatly influence the readings

No rubber strips. I added two 3" strips to the bottom with 5200 and small rubber at each holdown block w/ 5200
It is the vertical with float style. Im good with it.
