Just wondering if anyone has any tips. I took a quick look at it today but it looks like it kind of a pain to get to through access hole. Is it easier to pop off the back part of the deck. How does the pump actually come out?

I can't get to mine to replace through the access port either so I have to pull one of the panels. Not really a big problem. I cut through the caulk with a razor, take out the deck screws and lift off the panel. Once the panel is off, it's easy to access the pump and replace it. After I'm done and I know it works, I clean off the old caulk on the panel joints, reinstall the panel and screws, then recaulk with GE silicone II in almond color.

I took a better look at it today and I was able to get the old pump out. It was threaded into the thru-hull. It wasn't too bad going through the access hole but it would be a heck of a lot easier taking the panel off.
