Hello everyone!

I REALLY like my 2003 Fisherman 222 BUT a couple more feet (257 ) would be GREAT! If I could only get a couple of feet on this boat, there would be no need to trade - honestly.

So here is the idea... like the newer 230 Fisherman...(which is the same boat), how about I move the livewell to the rear-side compartments?
The plumbing can be moved. I may even be able to do two livewells (instead of 1 - use one as cooler) and would open access under the jump seats for the battery and pumps.

Has it been done? Good or Bad idea? it would have to be done well and look original for me to be happy.

Look forward to your comments!

I have a 2006 222…love it.
In my opinion….the boat already sits pretty low in the stern, maybe try to move some weights around to offset the fact you want to move the live well to the stern cooler boxes.
Cool idea though! Hope it works out for you.

Thought about the weight... but since the newer models have it there and the boat has trim tabs... thought it wouldn't be a big deal. However, I think it can easily be compensated by moving the batteries to the center console area.

Seems like a lot of work but could be done. I'd want a good glass guy to ensure it is done right. I'd be concerned that the cost may be prohibitive. Might be better to trade up to one configured that way from the factory.

Might want to try the “ have a friend sit on the corner of the boat thing “ 30 gallons of water is about 250 lbs so about a pretty good size friend. To split the capacity into 2 corners of about 20 gallons each is about 350 lbs. at the back of the boat..
Good luck !

I'd get some prices from good glass guys. I would want it to come out as close to perfect as possible in addition to the space gain. It may sway the decision one way or the other.
