Looked at a 265 Express today, any tips? (Bought it!!)

You want to mount the radome on top of the hump so that the cables drop straight down into the upper electronics box. You can then snake the cables down the starboard side hardtop tube. Should be access points (open tube) in the upper and lower electronics boxes.

Congrats on the purchase of the best 26 foot fishing boat ever made!

I bought my 03 in 06 and replaced the batteries that same year. My first call was to Grady, they will always point you in the right direction and their customer service rocks! As previous posters said, the suggested battery is dual purpose. Dekka supplied them for GW at the time and GW told me to go to West Marine, as Dekka supplies the private labelled batteries for WM. WM always has a Spring pre launch sale in CT, so I was able to buy the batteries on sale - I'd have to check but I am pretty sure they are 24s? They were solid for 3 seasons and I was able to squeeze a 4th out of them. I replaced all three of them in the Spring on 10, same place, same battery, same sale. YOu will not have any problems with these batteries. I run offshore several times a year an will drift for hours at a time for sharks, run the livewell, all the electronics, the stereo, etc. We will turn off the fridge but whatever is inside of it stays plenty cold...never a starting problem.

Many of us have bought the honda generator for overnite tuna trips and you willl need that to run lights and the above for the nite. Also, use the trim tabs sparingly....lots of newbies complain about the ride only to post here about it and complain. Do not overtab!!!!

Enjoy! Lots of happy owners here, willing to share.

Onother side note, fellow 265 owners, I ran into the VP of Marketing at the NY Boat show (Joey W)...I begged him, bring back the 265 design in a 28-30 foot boat!!! We need to let them hear our voices. Call, write, email Joey, in order for them to consider they need to hear customer feedback!!!!

Anonther 4 inches of snow this am, I am sick of winter!!!

Ive heard alot of guys talk abotu the honda gen's, but my boat doesnt have ANY A/C equipment or shore connection, it was orginally trailered, then dry stored its hole life in Alabama. I guess it would be nice, but since Im gonna be doing the same thing (trailering) i guess I want be missing too much.

Been looking at interstate 27's, roughly $100 each, hadnt checked WM's batts, I try to only use WM as a guide to parts, then find'em cheaper else where.....

I went ahead and did a new electronics package, nothing fancy like my last Ray120, but for the price and amount of equipment I got for $1000 less than a C90W (screen only) I'll take it, its a Standard Horizon CPV550 (7" plotter & vhf in 1), Furuno 1715 and all new antenna's.
Would like to replace the sounder next, but I dont even know what kind of transducer it has (there are 2 thru-hulls under the boat, going to the SITEX 208 sounder) The Standard Horizon seems like a versitle unit, it has the ability to intergrate radar and sounder, but I think Im gonna go stand alone vs multifunction, heck if nothing else atleast the Standard has a 3 year warranty, thats nice.

Waiting on engine service and some good weather to get at the boat and really dig into it, trying to plan a Oregon Inlet striper trip for mid-Feb.....(wish the fish would come back to the Ches Bay instead!!!)

Thanks again for all the feedback and info, very helpful.
