I saw the email for the new 340. Looks like a fantastic platform.
I was curious about features and saw this:

I wish my boat had that "feature."
I'm sure this is old news when they went to the all composite construction years ago.
On the bright side I hope it will mean that when they depreciate enough and my cheap-ass is willing to buy one, transom and stringer rot and delamination will be one thing to not be too concerned about!

yea. now fix the seam and trying to cover it up with a piece of stainless. It needs to be glassed over.

I wish that too, but ....
When we installed the new BF350 i discovered that below both corners of the transom notch wood is swelling and after we installed a thick SS bang cap the seam between and transom is split again.
The original aluminum bang cap was not in a bad shape and as far i saw it seems that water seeped in from the a bit bigger spider cracks on the angles of the transom notches.
I will discover the truth about the condition of the whole transom and if stringers delaminated when i have her out and found a fibreglass pro to fix that problem. Unfortunately finding a fibreglass shop/pro doing that is rather difficult as all are scared to do such a job and refuse.
I had many boats but never ever had problems like that and it's a shame that GW only now communicate to change the transom/stringer system of (some) of their boats.
I really love my boat but this very long ongoing problem is just absurd, particularly on a 2011 hull like mine.

Agreed. Absurd, especially considering these boats are meant to sit outside in the elements. Mine has always been stored indoors and I completely resealed mine when the engines were replaced.
If I'm not mistaken, GW still uses plywood of some sort in other areas like decks, etc. After tearing mine apart fixing and upgrading, it makes me nervous to even think about leaving it out in the rain for more than a day because of all of the potential water intrusion points. But many do with little issues.
