lower unit gear oil drain

How do you remove the lower water intake covers to gain acess to the lower unit oil drain plug. This is on a 2010 yamaha 250hp 4-stroke motor.

there is 3 or 4 allen wrench screws, they are easily visable. the one in the back of the cover has a metal slide in threaded piece, be careful not to lose. remove all screws and the cover pops off
 
oh by the way, this access the engine oil drain plug not the lower unit drains which are 2 regular screws on the lower unit

Hi Thanks for the help. On the 2010 250 hp Yamaha the setup is different. There are 2 upper water intakes and 2 lower water intakes, behind the starboard side lower intake cover is the gear oil drain plug. The material is a hard plastic trying to pry it out I can see a inner screw assembly that holds both the port and starboards lower covers together. I just do not see any plug or access hole to get the cover off.

I guess I will call yamaha to see if they can help.

Unless Yamaha has changed ALL the molds for the lower units, there should be a screw located on the right front lower side of the nose cone!
 
My 2006 F250 has a screw that could be confused for a plug or pin of some sort. The two halves are held together by that screw and cover the drain plug which is a large straight slot. Don't remember the type screw, could be phillips or allen. If allen it's metric.
