I put three of these LOXX pull-it-up fasteners on the center helm piece. I have rigid ploycarbonate "glass" that folds inward and up to the E-box.
got them on Sailrite.com Get "The Tool"!
The old outside "DOT" snaps on the windshield frame always came loose and were hard to snap from inside.
I made the canvas hole bigger by CAREFULLY cutting an X in the existing hole with a razor. Just enough to push Loxx into it and CAREFULLY trim to exact size with razor.

I used the 1/2" screw type base. I put it in the little channel in the windshield frame(because I was guaranteed not to hit glass).
That raised the center point of the snap. This has the effect of loosening the canvas a little, which was a good thing.
I predrilled using an 1/8" bit. Should have went a hair bigger. I snapped the third screw in the frame. 2 out of 3 ain't bad...
Why do projects always become PROJECTS? Finally got the broken screw out and got a new one in the same(wider) hole.
FYI, the screw is 9mm hex socket. "THE TOOL" is in the picture and has a 9mm hex and pins for tightening the button to the canvas.

The gap from frame to canvas is a little bigger. This may let in spray on an ugly ride home.
When the old snaps came loose, I got some spray also...

Plan is to put a stick-on 1/4" weather strip around entire front windshield frame.
To use these, I have to reach outside thru the zipper opening and lift up the button.
