I keep blowing the fuse on my macerator pump. I changed it a couple of years ago. I haven't pulled it out to see whats up but I was thinking I have the wrong fuse in there. does anyone know what size fuse I should have in there? I am not sure I have the right one in there.

Thanks Tom

The fuse in my Sailfish is 25 Amps but I don't know it that is standard. I just picked up the boat.

If it's like mine, I suspect that your macerator pump is seized. I tried the tap method to break mine loose to no avail. I have seen some others that modify the system to install an inline pump, but I really don't want to do that, and the cost to replace the submerged pump is over 500 dollars just for the pump, so at least for now that is not going to happen either. For now I will just stick with pump outs, especially since they are free at my marina.

I still use the panel as it let's me know how full the tank is.

Good luck with yours, whatever you decide to do.

well sure enough the pump is bad and yikes $600 for a new one. I am going to take the advice of others on here and hook up an external macerator pump. It sounded real intimidating at first but after doing some homework and looking at a few pics it looks fairly simple and about $150. thanks for the input.

Just a quick update. I banged the crap out of the old pump and was able to free it up. So I will be adapting the external pump the next time she breaks.

Thanks guys
