Microbial Growth inside your fuel system

Have run into microbial growth inside the VST....looks almost like bits of shell....clogs the fuel system something terrible.....what do you guys know about this topic

It's not something that's widely known about.....It happens when motors sit.....Just curious if you've heard of it?

Are you sure that isn't corrosion from phase separation?
Thankfully I have only come across what you are describing (appearance anyway) in a float bowl on a snowblower.

Oh no.....we are sure it was Microbial.....it can happen in anything that fuel sits like yer blower....cars burn thru gas too fast....I'm wondering does it come from the fuel companies in the fuel....does it form in the tank.....where does it come from.....it has to come from somewhere :hmm

It absolutely can occur. I spent about a week many years ago cleaning out a big kerosene fuel tank with scotch brite type pads. I can't recall what solution we used but talk about a meticulous process..... glad I never had to do it again.

It can and does occur in your Outboard.....my question is why does this one have it and that one doesn't.....where does it come from.....it has to come from somewhere....
