Might be a good time for folks to make a small donation

If they haven't already... send a direct message to Seafarer228G telling him that you donated and would like the ads removed. When I donated, I think it was less than an hour or two before the ads were removed from my account. Well worth the $10 donation in my opinion.

I did that yesterday. Still seeing tons of ads.
 
Man, what a difference not having to sift through all the ads! Definitely worth the small donation.

This makes me wonder how many potential members are turned away because of the aggressive and overwhelming ad displays. None of the other free forums I am a member of are like this.

I appreciate being able to make a small donation to remove the ads, but the owners of the forum might want to consider dialing it back a bit for non-paying members. I was "this close" to leaving the forum simply because it was so aggravating.
 
I respectfully disagree with the above.

I can't speak for the forum owners, but I suspect even a minimal donation gets rid of the ads. Let's say $10 get rid of the ads. Anyone on this forum should be able to kick-in $10.

I agree, but I'm talking about people who might be new to Grady looking for a good place to learn and socialize. The first thing they get is bombarded with ads that makes it difficult to find actual content. I'm pretty confident a lot of people simply leave immediately. Without the paid donation it really is a difficult forum to navigate. I don't see this level of advertising on any other free forum. I think it's a deterrent.

I wonder if the owner/administrator of the forum actually knows what a mess it looks like here without the ads removed. I'm sure they have them removed on their personal account so they might not have any idea how cluttered it is.
