Am going to try and replace the worn out cockpit moldings on my 1998 Islander 268. Found a place in NC that claim they have OEM original moldings, and they look authentic. Does anyone know what type of plastic/nylon rivets are used and where I might find them? Thanks.

On my 96 Islander the molding has a self adhering tape on the back side. I used a heat gun to remove the stuck on old adhesive. It is best to apply the new molding when it is warm, it shapes very easily when warm. Where the molding is located at the end of the walk around above the fish boxes it was supported with some small stainless screws. I purchased the molding at a local dealer.
If the place you found in North Carolina is Rusty Ron’s/Island Marina, then it is legit. He buys up leftovers when Grady finishes a production run, and has a huge warehouse full of parts, but he is not much cheaper than buying directly from Grady White.
