The last original thing left on my Boat was the Robertson AP11 Autopilot. Every time I wanted to make an adjustment. I had to stand up out of my chair. The original Dealer installed it up on the Electronics box in the hardtop. The 20 year old unit started acting up, so I bought a new one That’s NEMA2000. A Simrad AP44. I had long done away with the stereo remote on the helm. I put the stereo up in the electronics box in the hardtop, and put the remote down in the cabin. We like that much better. Then I moved the autopilot down to the helm. It is so much nicer! 3D6A16DB-B586-4776-B7A2-CC3760FE48AD.jpeg

perfect. Mine is next to the wheel also. Like you say, don't have to leave the chair when trolling. In fact, I pretty much drive with the AP buttons.
